Bozrah Light & Power Rate Schedule Public Hearing – January 20th, 6:30pm

Bozrah Light and Power are happy to announce that we have approved a new electric rate plan that will keep consumer electric bills roughly the same over the next three years.

On Wednesday December 16th the Bozrah Light & Power’s (BL&P) Utility Commission agreed to move forward with an updated three (3) year rate track for all BL&P rate payers. A public hearing will be held on Wednesday January 20th via Zoom. During that time BL&P looks forward to hearing from any and all interested parties – written communications will be accepted as well.

The Bozrah Utilities Commission Public Hearing starts at 6:30 pm

The 3-year rate track provides for virtually flat adjustments to nearly all customer’s electric bills. The residential rate classification will stay flat at a 0.1%, 0.0% and 0.0% rate adjustments respectively. The general commercial rate class will see small increases at 0.3%, 0.2% and 0.2% respectively. More energy intensive commercial/industrial customers within the large general service class will see the largest reductions at -0.9%, -0.5% and -0.5% respectively.

Bozrah Light and Power is proud to offer another three years of price stability. Although distribution costs continue to rise, BL&P has been able to hold rate increases to a minimum through reductions in wholesale energy markets and sound fiscal policy. BL&P is confident that the three year rate track will maintain and improve the fiscal health of the company allowing us to better serve the community and rate payers. We believe this updated rate track compliments our mission to be a premiere utility – at your service!
