Watershed Inspections
As part of source water protection Watershed Staff conduct visual inspections of the land, residences, businesses & properties within the watershed of the drinking water reservoirs. This helps minimize pollution & meet Connecticut Public Health Code Regulations.
Watershed inspections are done to ensure drinking water quality and are currently underway.
The inspections focus on outside features of properties including:
- Lawns & driveways
- Septic systems
- Equipment
- Storm structures & drainage
- Storage & disposal of materials & waste
Watershed Staff wear a uniform, have an identification badge & travel in a Groton Utilities vehicle and are happy to explain the process when on-site.
